While my family long suspected that I was a Christmas Grinch, I was secretly Christmas obsessed waiting for my moment to explode with festive spirit. And now it’s my time to shine! Last month when Kmart released this year’s Christmas range, their Geometric Reindeer caught my eye. Instantly, I knew that it would be the ideal centre piece in our apartment.
While I love this piece in its original state, I also saw its white ceramic finish as an opportunity to make it unique. Because I’m going for the classic black and gold this season (and every Christmas for the rest of my life), I decided I wanted to personalise my reindeer to compliment my colour scheme.
Providing you can get your hands on this Geometric Reindeer, it’s a super easy DIY project. All you need is:
- Washi tape
- Nail polish
To begin, stick washi tape around the antlers and hooves. This will ensure that the painted edges will be straight and precise. When the adhesive is applied secured, apply a few coats of nail polish until you reach the desired colour and density. Remove the washi tape once the polish has dried and voila – you’re done!
What’s great about this Geometric Reindeer is how versatile it can be. There are so many ways you can personalise it, in fact, you could paint the whole thing in geometric shapes or bright colours. The options are endless and they’re totally up to you! How would you personalise your Geometric Reindeer? Let me know in the comments!
