Christmas In A Cup: Gingerbread Man Tea

Seeing as I successfully gave up my morning coffee (thanks to my November Goals), I’ve entirely embraced the diversity of tea. While I’m an avid lover of T2’s Liquorice Legs and Caramel Brownie tea, I have a new festive favourite that’s skyrocketed through the ranks. It’s Tea Garden Co.‘s Gingerbread Man and it’s an absolute heart warmer.

I don’t know what it is about gingerbread, but for me it always conjures up cosy sensations. I feel soothed and snug whenever I enjoy it. Even though I don’t experience white Christmases by a warm fire in an ugly sweater, devouring cinnamon-centric food and drinks transport me there spiritually. With such a love for gingerbread (and cinnamon), it was no surprise I fell in love with TGC’s Gingerbread Man tea.

Method

Seeing as I love a strong tea, I brewed the leaves for a decent 5 minutes before topping it up with warm milk. Because I don’t have a milk frother at home (yet) I used a nifty technique to create the foam. All you need is a jar with a screw-top lid, a microwave and — of course — milk! Pour your milk into the jar until it’s half full. Secure the lid, then shake for at least 30 seconds. Once the milk foams, remove the jar lid and warm in the microwave for another 30 seconds. Scoop a few teaspoons of foam on top of your tea, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and you’re ready to enjoy!

With Christmas just around the corner, I’ve been drinking this tea all through the day and all through the night. As a dear friend of mine would put it – this tea is Christmas in a cup!
